With 4K resolution grabbing all the headlines, everyone keeps forgetting that the 4K TV content is still limited. Therefore, a full-HD LED TV, at the moment, is a more practical buy. Recently Truvison, a Europe based consumer electronics company, launched the 32-inch LED TV TX3271, which claims to be an ideal home entertainment package. Priced at Rs 23,490, this LED TV also boasts of inbuilt apps and promises to deliver engaging gaming experience without compromising on the visual quality. For that price, it certainly sounds like a dream, but we decided to test it and find out if it lives up to its promises.

Display

Before we get into what all features the Truvison TX3271 offers, let’s get to the Full-HD display. The resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels may sound quite average, but it’s the LED TV’s contrast ratio of 300000:1 that ensured that there is a balance between the brightest and the darkest colours. To my surprise, on Standard display setting, the content on the Truvison LED TV was quite bright. Apart from the default settings like Standard, Mild and Dynamic, the LED TV also comes with user settings, which let us customise the picture quality by tinkering around with contrast, brightness and sharpness.

Now comes the acid test as we plugged in Sony Playstation 4 gaming console to the LED TV. Again we had no real complaints. During fast motion, the picture quality remained fluid, though one could feel a slight lag. What was impressive was that it didn’t offer motion blur, which is quite visible in the affordable LED TV range. With vibrant colours on the display, the in-depth details of the games remained true.

Sound quality

LED TVs are getting slimmer and this only means that engineers have limited space for speakers. As the bezels are shrinking, the standard sound quality of a LED TV is fairly flat and the same goes for the Truvison. It’s actually a vicious circle as you’re forced to buy an external soundbar or speakers to ensure that your living room has a cinema hall like surround sound feel.

Connectivity features

Nowadays, an LED TV must have two HDMI Ports – one for your gaming console and the other for your DTH set-top box. Thankfully, this Truvison TV comes with two HDMI ports along with Speaker Out and of course two USB ports. Behind the TV on the right-hand side, there are control buttons for volume, channels, power and menu.

Verdict

At Rs 23,490, Truvison TX3271 32-inch LED TV is an affordable smart TV that runs on Android 4.4 OS. Apart from seamless connectivity options, another exciting feature it comes with is the Android Air Fly Mouse that allows you to play games and at the same time doubles up as a traditional remote. The LED TV’s display offers a fairly decent picture quality, though we would suggest external speakers for better sound quality. All-in-all, it’s a pocket-friendly full-HD LED TV.
