Vodafone offers unlimited calls, 500MB data at Rs 69

Users will get a cashback of Rs 900 after 18 months and after another 18 months, a cashback of Rs 1,000 will be deposited in their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

Telecom major Vodafone India today announced the SuperWeek plan, offering unlimited local and STD calls to any network bundled with 500 MB data at just Rs 69  for a week.

The new plan comes after Vodafone in association with Micromax, recently launched a low cost 4G phone, ‘Bharat 2 Ultra’ at Rs 999 that goes head to head with Reliance’s JioPhone. Bharat 2 Ultra will be made available to new and existing Vodafone customers starting November.

The Micromax-Vodafone Bharat 2 Ultra is priced at Rs 2,899, the company is offering cashbacks which lowers the price of the device to Rs 999. Users need to recharge their device with a minimum of Rs 150 per month for 36 months. The recharges can be done in any denomination totalling to a minimum of Rs 150 per month.

Earlier, Micromax introduced Bharat 1, another low cost 4G feature phone, in partnership with the BSNL.

Telecom operators including Vodafone, Airtel facing tough competition with Reliance Jio on the budget 4G phone front, and regularly come up with new plans and offers to sustain the user base.

The global smart-phone ownership, which is transforming the way we communicate with each other will continue to expand in 2018, and India will have 530 million smartphone users in 2018.

According to a US-based media agency Zenith, the mobile devices account for 73 per cent of time spent using the internet in 2018, up from 70 per cent in 2017 and 65 per cent in 2016. Mobile internet use has doubled since 2011. By 2019, Zenith expects mobile to account for 76 per cent of mobile internet use.
