Xiaomi will launch a new bezel-less display smartphone Mi MIX 2 in India on October 10. Ahead of the launch event, e-commerce major Flipkart has revealed that the Mi MIX 2 will be exclusively available on its platform.

Last month, Xiaomi launched Mi MIX 2 in China along with the Mi Note 3. As of now there are no rumours that Mi Note 3 will step foot in India. Xiaomi’s premium category has witnessed a no show since the launch of Mi 5 in March last year. The company also backed out from the Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress.

In China, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 was launched in three variants -- 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage at CNY 3,299 (approx. Rs 32,300), 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage at CNY 3,599 (approx. Rs 35,300), and 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage at CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs 39,200).

The main USP of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be its bezel-less display. The smartphone is expected to come with 5.99-inch full-HD display having 18:9 aspect ratio with the support for DCI-P3 colour gamut. Similar to Mi MIX, the front camera of Mi MIX has been pushed to the bottom of the device. The smartphone will be cladded in a ceramic body, built out of 7-Series aluminium apart from an 18K gold plated camera ring.

Another major highlight is 'hidden sound-guided speaker' that resonates sound through the display and frame, completely hiding the speaker itself. The smartphone could also come with facial recognition technology.

The dual-SIM supporting Mi MIX could come with a Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB of RAM, dual rear camera setup (two 12MP sensors, one with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens and the other with an f/2.6 telephoto lens, offering 4-axis OIS), a 16MP front camera, and up to 128GB of inbuilt storage and a 3,500mAh battery.
