Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Note 10 with an 108MP camera sensor in Europe. Given the company’s past record and its ‘(Mi) fan base’ in India, it was quite evident that the phone would cross borders to land in the country. At that time, the question was ‘when?’ Clearing some air, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the phone will launch in India soon. The company hasn’t revealed it in a straightforward manner and instead chose to drop subtle hints about it.
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global Vice President, tweeted thrice in a span of about two days hinting at the India launch of the Mi Note 10 smartphone, which is also known as the Mi CC9 Pro in China. The executive has also asked his followers to comment ‘the 1st picture’ that they will take ‘on this incredible camera.’

The Mi Note 10 handset was launched in Aurora Green, Glacier White, and Midnight Black colour options. It starts at a price point of 549 Euros, which is approx Rs 43,000. There’s a high-end variant that costs 649 Euros (approx Rs 51,000). The information regarding the variants and price is not known yet but given the company’s strategy in the country, it is likely to bring multiple models at different price points. This is a flagship device and Xiaomi has had a miserable run (remember Mi Mix?) when it comes to selling costly devices in India.
The Mi Note 10 features a 6.47-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution. The display has a waterdrop notch and an under-display fingerprint scanner. According to Xiaomi, the fingerprint sensor is 88 per cent thinner than the previous generation, and allows for extra space for battery. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The USP of the phone is its camera with 8P lens. The five cameras on the back have a 108MP 1/1.33-inch Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, a 5MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 12MP with 2x zoom for portraits, a 20MP wide-angle shooter and a macro lens to capture images from up to 1.5 cm. For selfies, the phone sports a 32MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The phone hoses a 5,260 mAh battery that comes with 30W fast-charging support.
