Launched in August of 2018, the Poco F1 was the first phone from Xiaomi's sub-brand in the sub-20k segment to offer a flagship experience. The smartphone has now been confirmed to get MIUI 11.

Soon introducing the latest version of its custom Android skin MIUI 11 at the launch of the Mi Mix Alpha and Mi 9 Pro smartphones in China on September 24, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced a list of over 40 devices that will get the MIUI 11 update, including the Poco F1, which was not present in the list.

Pocophone’s Global Head Alvin Tse announced the update on Twitter, clarifying that the list shared by Xiaomi only included the devices available in China. And since Pocophone F1 is not sold in China, its name wasn’t mentioned there.

The MIUI 11 will start rolling out in China from mid-October, while the global rollout will begin later, said Tse. The MIUI 11 is based on Android 10 and comes with several additional features, including a system-wide dark mode, new Mi Lan Pro system font, enhanced always-on display functionality, and upgraded Kids mode.

The company has also included a few pre-loaded apps called Mi Work and Mi-Go in the MIUI 11 update.

Launched last year, the Poco F1 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 platform and LiquidCool technology cooling system. The smartphone offers up to 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage and comes with a 4,000mAh battery. The device comes with an AI-powered dual camera setup – a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with dual-pixel autofocus.  At the front, POCO F1 deploys a 20MP sensor featuring Super Pixel technology that combines the information of four pixels into one large 1.8μm pixel for clearer images with less noise. Both the rear and front cameras are supported by AI features for photos, such as AI Portrait, AI Beautify, and AI Scene Detection.
