Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi today announced the Redmi 7A that comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, a massive 4,000mAh battery, and a matte finish unibody design. The company is also offering 2 years’ warranty for Redmi 7A.
The Redmi 7A sports a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor making it the only phone in its segment to sport a high-end sensor from Sony. At the front, it features a 5MP front camera with AI Portrait mode for great portrait selfies.
The Redmi 7A comes with wireless FM radio and a 5.45-inch 18:9 HD+ full screen display. The smartphone comes with a dual SIM card with a dedicated micro-SD card slot which supports expansion up to 256GB. In addition, Redmi 7A offers dual VoLTE capabilities.
The Redmi A series has cumulatively shipped over 23.6 million smartphones in India. And according to IDC India Monthly National Smartphone Tracker report, the Redmi 5A and Redmi 6A have a 48 per cent market share in Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 price segment in 2019.
Xiaomi is also planning to launch a brand-new Redmi smartphone – Redmi K20 Pro which is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a 48MP triple rear camera setup along with a 20MP front camera.
According to the media reports, the K2 Pro will come with a 6.30-inch AMOLED screen, a new generation of in-display fingerprint scanner and a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. Apart from this, the smartphone is expected to come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC and an ultra-wide camera lens. The India launch has not yet been confirmed.
