Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with 18:9 aspect ratio spotted at TENAA

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with 6-inch full-HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 14nm FinFET Snapdragon 636 processor.

Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new Redmi Note 5 in its hometown (China) and given the popularity of its predecessor Note 4 in India, we believe Note 5 will quickly make its way to the Indian market.

Numerous leaks of the Note 5 have come on the internet in the past few months. The latest comes from the Chinese agency TENAA that suggest that Note 5 will come with an 18:9 aspect ratio and bezel-less design. And if Xiaomi introduces Note 5 with an affordable price tag for which the company has been known, Note 5 could become the first phone in its segment to come with bezel-less screen.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with 6-inch full-HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 14nm FinFET Snapdragon 636 processor. And according to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 636 offers 40 per cent better performance compared to the Snapdragon 630 thanks to the Kryo 260 cores. 

Redmi Note 5 could sport a metal body, fingerprint sensor on the rear and will come with 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to feature dual camera lens. Rumours has it that the Redmi Note 5 will come with 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

Redmi Note 4 is expected to come in three variants -- 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, priced around  $175 (approx Rs 11,338), 4GB RAM and 32GB storage at $175 (approx Rs 11,338), and $220 (approx Rs 14,253), respectively.

Leading with the sales from Redmi Note 4 device, Xiaomi has become the fastest growing smartphone brand in India in the third quarter of 2017, with a growth of 292 per cent Year-on-Year (YoY), Counterpoint Research said earlier.
