Bharti Airtel has brought back the Rs 558 prepaid plan after some modifications. While the benefits of the plan have increased, its validity has decreased. Before introducing a tariff hike earlier this month, Airtel offered unique plans with benefits like Rs 4 lakh life insurance cover, and Amazon Prime membership, among others. The company launched some new plans, but they seemed uncooked. In order to retain its existing customers, and add new ones, the company is now in the process of modifying its prepaid plans. The reintroduction of this plan seems to be a part of the same strategy.

For those who don’t know, Airtel offered 3GB data per day and unlimited calling for a period of 82 days with the Rs 558 plan. The reintroduced plan – valid for 56 days, i.e., 26 days less than the previous term – now offers the same 3GB data per day, truly unlimited voice calls to any network within India, and 100 SMSes per day. In addition, subscribers will get Wynk Music subscription, Airtel Xstream App Premium membership, a free four-week course on Shaw Academy, and Rs 100 cashback on FASTag.

Apart from the modification of Rs 558 plan, the company has also added benefits to its Rs 349 prepaid recharge. Airtel is now providing free Amazon Prime subscription worth Rs 129 with its monthly prepaid recharge of Rs 349. It offers 2GB data per day, 100 SMSes per day and unlimited voice calling to any network for 28 days.

The news comes a few days after Reliance Jio introduced the 2020 Happy New Year Offer for a limited period. Under this offer, Rs 2,020 will give users unlimited voice calling, 1.5GB data per day, free SMS, and access to the company’s suite of apps for one year. The plan comes with FUP on non-Jio voice calls. You can click this link to know more about this plan.
