Apple globally unveiled the iPhone 15 in September last year. A few days after the iPhone 15 was released, rumours about its successor, the iPhone 16, began circulating online. Notably, the upcoming iteration of the smartphone is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2024. Although the iPhone 16 is still several months away from its official release, details regarding its specs and other features have been doing rounds on the internet for some time now. Recent reports suggest the upcoming iPhone 16 will not only retain all five current colour options offered with the iPhone 15 series but will also be available in two new colour options. MacRumors reported on information originating from a Weibo user named Fixed Focus Digital, noting that the iPhone 16 Plus will be available in seven different colours: Green, Black, Purple, Pink, White, Yellow, and Blue. Now, since Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Yellow shades are already available with the iPhone 15, Purple and White will be the colour options for the iPhone 16.
Other speculations suggest that the iPhone 16 will feature minor design changes and that the Pro versions will feature larger screens with slimmer bezels. Furthermore, the base-spec iPhone 16 may have an Action Button, while the Pro variants may have a new Capture Button with haptic feedback. Vertically oriented camera sensors may also be offered with future updates. The expected colour options for the iPhone 16 Pro models – Space Black, Grey, White, and Rose – were also revealed earlier in March. For a matte finish, it will reportedly use the iPhone 15's glass colouring technology.
The iPhone 16 is also expected to have certain improvements concerning the battery, with leaks indicating a higher capacity battery for the entire iPhone 16 series. A 3,561mAh battery may be added to the standard model, while a 4,006mAh battery may be available for the Plus variant. The next generation A18 Pro Bionic chipsets, which promise potent performance and efficiency, are expected to power the iPhone 16 Pro series.
With a few months left until the upcoming Apple iPhone model is officially released, the company is still in the process of developing all of the features for iOS 18.
