Oppo has been in the top 5 smartphone makers in India since long and it has seen a massive 53 per cent growth on quarter-over-quarter basis in the second quarter of 2019. Counterpoint Research says that new launches helped the company register a massive growth. On similar lines, Chinese phone maker Oppo launched the A9 2020 and A5 2020 smartphones in India last week. Out of the two, the Oppo A9 2020 will go on sale via Amazon at 12p.m. It is equipped with a quad rear camera setup, and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 mobile platform.
The Oppo A9 2020 was launched in two variants, however, it is not clear whether both the phones will be up for grabs today. The listing page on Amazon teases only the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant that will cost customers Rs 19,990. The phone will be available via offline channels from September 19. During the launch, the company announced a 5 per cent instant discount on purchase of the smartphone with HDFC Bank credit or debit cards.
The Oppo A9 2020 sports an HD+ 6.5-inch display that offers a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The display sports a waterdrop-style notch and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 mobile platform. As mentioned, the device was launched in two variants: 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
When it comes to optics, the Oppo A9 2020 sports a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degrees field of view, a 2MP monochrome shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor for capturing portraits. On the front is a 16MP sensor with AI Beautification Mode. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery, and it runs ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie. The company has launched the phone in marine green and space purple colours.
