WhatsApp usually works on a number of features behind the curtains. The information about such features is only available to those who have enrolled in the beta programme offered by the company. Now, as per one such platform, the instant messaging app is developing a new feature that, once enabled, will automatically delete conversations. Read on to know more.

As per WABetainfo, the Android beta version 2.19.275 brings the ‘Disappearing Messages’ feature. In the beta version, it is seen that any message or messages which are marked as ‘disappeared’ will be automatically removed after a certain interval. A user can mark the chat as ‘disappeared’ enabling the option ‘Disappearing messages’, in Group Info.

Once a user taps ‘Disappearing messages’, WhatsApp will show the available options to select. After choosing one of the options, the marked message(s) will be automatically removed and there will be no tracks available in the chat about deleted messages. Reportedly, the development of the feature is at a nascent stage and there is no timeline of when the feature will be available for the masses.

The news comes a few days after WhatsApp was reported to be working on Status-related feature and Facebook Pay. Once the stable update is released, the first feature will allow users to hide muted status updates in the app. As far as Facebook is concerned, Facebook Inc is developing for this feature for all its apps, including WhatsApp. WhatsApp will have a dedicated section to add a new payment method.
