Taiwanese tech giant Asus today launched the ASUS 6Z in India that comes with a flip-top rotating camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, and a massive 5,000mAh battery.
The Asus 6Z is priced at Rs 31,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM and 1288GB storage variant is priced at Rs 34,999 and the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced for Rs 39,999. The ASUS 6Z will go on sale on Flipkart, starting June 26 in midnight black and twilight silver colour variants.
Part of Android One beta programme, the Asus 6Z runs on Zen UI 6 on top of Android 9 Pie with the promise to upgrade to Android Q. The smartphone sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) IPS screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio offering 92 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 600 nits of brightness and is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
The smartphone has dual camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor with Sony IMX586 sensor, an f/1.79 aperture, a laser focus module, 1.6-micron pixel size, and an 13MP secondary ultra-wide-angle camera (125-degree). At the front there is a motorised camera that rotates vertically to face the user of the phone and works as both the selfie and the rear camera. Whats interesting is that the company allows users to control the rotation, so user can stop the motorised camera halfway to shoot at different angles. There is also a fall protection that automatically retracts the camera if the phone detects free fall.
Additionally, the ASUS 6Z comes with UFS 2.1 file system for fast data transfer. Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For multimedia purposes, the ASUS 6Z has incorporated stereo speakers both at the top and bottom. A NXP TFA9874 smart amplifier is also present in the device. The smartphone is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
