Asus ROG Phone 2 with Snapdragon 855+ chipset, 120Hz display launched in India

Asus has launched the ROG Phone 2 gaming smartphone in India at a starting price of Rs 37,999. The company is also offering accessories that it has launched to enhance the overall gaming experience.

After launching it in China and Europe, Tawiwanese tech giant Asus has now launched its second flagship gaming phone, the ROG Phone 2, in India. The phone probably has the best hardware on paper, including a top-end processor, audio technology as well as support for a range of gaming accessories. Asus ROG Phone 2 price

We have already seen the variation in the variants that have been offered in different markets. In India, the Asus ROG Phone 2 price starts at Rs 37,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The box will contain a 10W QC 4.0 compatible charger and an AeroCase cover. The higher-end variant with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage can be purchased for Rs 59,999. The retail box of this variant will come with include a 30W ROG Charger, AeroActive Cooler, and an  Aero Case. As far as accessories are concerned, Asus has unveiled a TwinView Dock for Rs 19,999, a Desktop station at a price of Rs 12,999, and ROG Kunai Gamepad, which is priced at Rs 9,999. The ROG 30W charger can also be purchased for Rs 1,999.

While the 8GB variant will go on sale starting September 30 via Flipkart, the company hasn’t told anything specific date of availability of the other variant. Flipkart will offer 10 per cent instant discount on purchases made using ICICI bank credit cards, and Axis bank credit and debit cards.

Asus ROG Phone 2 specifications

Asus ROG Phone 2 sports a 6.59-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. It offers 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display, which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6, comes with a fingerprint sensor and 10-bit HDR support. Asus claims that the phone’s display offer a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and touch latency of 49ms. Under the hood, the phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which is claimed to deliver 15 per cent better performance in graphics and 4 per cent improvement in CPU power over Snapdragon 855.

The chipset is accompanied by up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 of storage. The phone also has a liquid cooling tech that keeps it cool while intense usage sessions. To increase the gaming experience, the phone also comes with upgraded ultrasonic Air Triggers 2 shoulder buttons and stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support. In the camera department, the phone has a 48MP primary camera and a 13MP wide-angle lens with a 125-degrees field of view. On the front is a 24MP sensor. The Asus phone 2 is powered by 6,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
