The Asus ROG Phone 3 has been announced as the company's latest gaming smartphone. The smartphone might be quite similar to last year’s ROG Phone 2 in terms of dimensions, with tiny bezels both on the top and bottom, but it comes with several hardware-level upgrades.
To start with, the Asus ROG Phone 3 is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that functions on Android 10 with ROG UI. The device has a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,340 pixels) AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 144Hz, with 270Hz touch sampling rate. It measures 171x78x9.85mm and weighs 240 grams.
The ASUS smartphone functions on the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC and features the Adreno 650 GPU with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. As far as the cameras are concerned, the device packs a triple camera setup at the back, which includes a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with f/1.8 lens, a 13MP secondary sensor, and a 5MP tertiary sensor with f/2.0 macro lens. For selfies, the smartphone has a 24 MP camera. The phone supports 4K slow-mo video recording, up to 8K videos, and a Pro mode.
The Asus Rog Phone 3 comes with up to 256GB of onboard UFS 3.1 storage, which does not support expansion through a microSD card but it has NTFS support for external USB hard drives. The connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE, 5G, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, Bluetooth v5.1, USB Type-C, and a 48-pin side port. Moreover, the ROG Phone 3 comes with an ambient light sensor on-board, along with a magnetometer, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. Furthermore, the device also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and ultrasonic sensors for AirTrigger 3 and grip press features.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 will be available for ₹49,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB variant, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant would cost you ₹57,999. The device will go on sale Flipkart at 12 am IST on August 6. Both the variants will come bundled with an Aero Case. However, the top-end variant includes the AeroActive Cooler 3 accessory too.
