Taiwanese giant, Asus has unveiled the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro as its latest smartphone models. Both the ZenFone 7-series smartphones have a motorized flip camera, which is quite similar to the Zenfone 6 (or the Asus 6Z) from last year. The devices have a 90Hz AMOLED display along with 30W fast charging and they support 5G. A major difference that can be highlighted in both the device is that ZenFone 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC whereas the ZenFone 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC.
The ZenFone 7 is a dual-SIM (Nano) that functions on Android 10 with ZenUI 7 on the top. The smartphone has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) AMOLED display, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a refresh rate of 90Hz, peak brightness of 700 nits with a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It measures 165.08x77.28x9.6mm and it weighs 230 grams. It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with Adreno 650 GPU and up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The flip camera has three different sensors which include a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, a 12MP Sony IMX363 secondary sensor, and an 8MP tertiary sensor with a telephoto lens which allows 3x optical zoom. The camera also supports 4K and 8K video recordings.
As far as the storage is concerned the ZenFone 7 offers 128GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). The connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 6, 4G LTE, 5G, GPS/ A-GPS/ NavIC, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The sensors on-board include a gyroscope, magnetometer, accelerometer, hall effect, ambient light, and proximity sensor. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone has a 5,000mAh battery which supports 30W fast charging.
The ZenFone 7 Pro is also a dual-SIM (Nano) with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) AMOLED display, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC, coupled with the Adreno 650 GPU and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. As far as the camera and connectivity options are concerned, the smartphone is identical to the ZenForce 7. The sensors on-board and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor are also in line with the ZenForce 7. To add to the list of similarities, the ZenForce 7 Pro is also packed with a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
The ZenFone 7 is available at a price of TWD 21,990 (approximately ₹55,700) for the 6GB + 128GB storage variant, whereas the 8GB + 128GB storage variant is priced at TWD 23,990 (approximately ₹60,100). However, the only variant of Asus ZenFone 7 Pro, the 8GB + 256GB storage variant is available for TWD 27,990 (approximately ₹71,000). Both smartphones will up for sale in Taiwan shortly, but there is no news about the global launch of the device.
