Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) to launch on January 10

Galaxy A8+ (2018) costs VND 13,490,000 in Vietnam, approximately Rs 38,040 –making it go head to head with the recently launched OnePlus 5T as well as the Nokia 8 and LG G6.

South Korean giant is all set to launch its first smartphone in 2018 on January 10. Called as “the year’s first big innovation,” the smartphone’s key highlights are Infinity display, dust and water resistant.

The company has sent out media invites for an event scheduled for January 10 for which Amazon has also set up a dedicated page to feature the device. Rumours has it that the device will be Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018).

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) is expected to have a 6-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display having a resolution of 1080x2220 ppi along with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core processor with two 2.2GHz cores and six 1.6GHz cores and will run on Android.

There will be a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and PDAF and dual camera setup with 16MP and 8MP sensors at the front -- both with f/1.9 aperture.

The smartphone will come in two configurations -- 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage and 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage. Samsung says that storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro-SD card. It also packs MST for Samsung Pay-based mobile payments.

The device will be fuelled by 3,500mAh battery with support of fast-charging. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and LE, NFC, USB Type-C, GPS, and GLONASS.
