Samsung Galaxy M55 5G, Galaxy M15 5G to Launch in India on April 8; Here's What You Need to Know

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G will get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, whereas the Galaxy M15 5G will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor.

About a week ago, Samsung teased the Galaxy M55 5G with a banner (uploaded on Amazon) showing the sleek design of the phone while touting a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. In comparison, the Galaxy 15's banner featured a Super AMOLED display with a centred waterdrop notch and a 6,000mAh battery. Now, Samsung has revealed plans to launch the two new smartphones in India on April 8, although they have already made their global debuts. Alongside the launch announcement, Samsung has also revealed a few key details, including colour options and battery specs. 

Upon launch, the India-spec Samsung Galaxy M55 5G will get Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, in addition to a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Plus display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness level. The display will additionally have Vision Booster technology that adapts the screen to light. At the front, there will be a 50-megapixel camera for selfies and videos, whereas there will be a triple rear camera unit at the back. The latter will include a primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). 

In terms of battery and charging, the Galaxy M55 5G will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery and will support 45W wired fast charging and an Android v12 operating system. Other bits are a gyroscope, light sensor, and in-display fingerprint scanner. One can also expect NFC, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth v5.2, and 5G compatibility. The phone will be available in three variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. As for colours, you will have the option to choose between Denim Black and Light Green.

Samsung Galaxy M15 5G: Specifications, Features

On the other side, the Samsung Galaxy M15 5G will use MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ 6nm CPU and will offer a 6.5-inch FHD+ Infinity-V Super AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Like the M55, the M15 will have a triple rear camera setup of 50MP + 5MP + 2MP. However, at the front, it will have a 13-megapixel unit. 

The Galaxy M15 will come with a 6,000mAh non-removable battery claimed to offer a battery life of up to two days. Apart from that, the handset will likely offer 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC connection options, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. 

Upon arrival in India, the Galaxy M15 5G will come in three colour options – Blue Topaz, Celestine Blue, and Stone Grey.
