Samsung India today launched an all new Galaxy On8 smartphone which will be available only online on e-commerce platform, Flipkart and on Samsung Online Shop (shop.samsung.com/in). Galaxy On8 costs Rs 16,990 and will be available starting from August 6.
The Galaxy On8 packs a larger 6-inche Super AMOLED Infinity Display and dual camera set-up powered by artificial intelligence that allows users to experiment with the foreground and background of an image. The dual camera also supports ‘Live Focus’ feature, where users can bring sharp focus to the foreground while blurring out the background.
The primary dual rear camera set up has 16MP with f/1.7 aperture and 5MP with f/1.9 aperture. There is 16MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. The new device also comes with the latest Android Oreo 8.0 operating system and runs on Snapdragon 450 processor, 3,500 mAh battery. Galaxy On8 comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal memory (expandable up to additional 256 GB).
The Galaxy On8 comes with three new powerful dual camera features -- background blur shape, portrait dolly, and portrait backdrop. With Background Blur Shape, you can make the pictures talk by adding soft light effect in different contextual shapes. The Portrait Dolly feature delivers a moving GIF image with zoom movements in the background for a cinematic photography experience. The portrait backdrop mode gives a professional touch to photography by creating cool and funky backgrounds effects.

Galaxy On8 comes with an 18.5:9 Infinity display providing nearly 15 per cent more display area without increasing the overall size of the device, the company added.
The Galaxy On8 also features Samsung’s ‘Make for India’ “Chat Over Video” feature that eradicates interruptions while viewing video content on mobile devices by ensuring that the video keeps playing and it also provides a transparent keyboard to continue chatting.
The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with Samsung Mall that uses Artificial Intelligence to let users shop by clicking a picture of the desired product and automatically getting results for the item across popular e-commerce platforms.
