Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S20 Series at the Unpacked 2020 event scheduled to take place on February 11 in San Francisco, a media report has said. Technology news portal XDADevelopers has released live images of a smartphone, allegedly the Galaxy S20+, claiming that the pictures were sent to the publication by a source who wishes to stay anonymous. The images show the smartphone from the back and a boot screen that reads ‘Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G’.
A previous report said that the South Korean giant will launch three phones: the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. With 5G written on the boot screen it’s likely that Samsung will be launching at least one 5G variant of the phone, however, there is little clarity about the markets in which these phones will debut. Moreover, as per the rumoured nomenclature, the ‘plus’ variant may not be the high-end variant.
When looked from the front, we can see the has very small bezels. The Infinity-O display less curved as compared to the previous generation of phones. XDADevelopers said that their source said that the surface felt flat – ‘almost similar to the Pixel 2 XL’, which means that Samsung may have opted for 2.5D glass. The punch hole is in the centre - like the one in the Galaxy Note10, the Galaxy Note10 Lite and the Galaxy S10 Lite -- which can be pre-booked from January 23 in India.
On the right side of the phone is a volume rocker and power button, and there is no Bixby button. On the rear, the image shows that phone sports four cameras, a flash, and a microphone hole encased in a rectangular module. The ‘Galaxy S20 Ultra’ is rumored to come with a new 108 MP main rear camera. This is said to be accompanied by an ultra-wide, telephoto, and a macro lens. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is touted to have 100x zoom support. All three variants are expected to have 8K recording capabilities.
In another Samsung smartphone-related report, well-known tipster Ice Universe has claimed that the rumoured clamshell foldable phone will be called the Galaxy Z Flip, not Fold 2 or Galaxy Bloom.

The news comes a few days after a large chunk of media reported that Samsung has confirmed the name of its second foldable smartphone as Galaxy Bloom to its partners at a secret meeting during CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
