Samsung has confirmed that it is developing another foldable smartphone. At the annual Samsung Developers Conference, the South Korean tech giant showcased the concept design of its next foldable device. And going by its looks, the next Samsung foldable smartphone could be a clamshell device just like the Moto Razr 2019. The company also launched a new rugged phone called the Galaxy Xcover FieldPro.

First, let’s talk about the foldable phone. At the conference, Samsung showed a video that gave an idea of the phone's appearance, however, the final product will most likely have some design changes. This will be Samsung’s second foldable phone after the Galaxy Fold, which was unveiled at the MWC 2019. After launching it globally, the company sent out review devices in the US. The phone received a lot of flak due to its design, and Samsung had to recall the review devices. The South Korean giant later accepted that it launched the phone in a hurry and restarted its work on refining the phone’s design. The phone was relaunched in September and can be purchased for Rs 1,64,999 in India.

Now coming to the rugged Galaxy Xcover FieldPro, this device is primarily for the field agents and first responders. As expected, the phone is MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certified, which means that the phone can withstand adverse working conditions. The phone houses a 4,500mAh battery, which can be swapped in the field with the second battery included in the package. Those who buy the phone can also charge it from a docking station with the help of pogo pins.

The handset sports a 5.1-inch display with QHD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has an Exynos 9810 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB. The phone features a 12MP camera on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter. The fingerprint sensor is on the back panel. The Galaxy Xcover FieldPro has dedicated buttons for push-to-talk and emergency request so that people can use it even if they are wearing thick gloves or are working in the rain.
