India Mobile Congress to kickstart from September 27

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani will share the stage with Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal and Kumar Mangalam Birla of Idea Cellular at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) – a first of its kind event in India for business-to-consumer and business-to-government activities.

Acoording to the IMC website, Ambani will deliver the opening speech and Mittal is one of the speakers.

The three-day exhibition (September 27-September 29) that carries the tagline “Connecting the next Billion” will bring together all global stakeholders at one place in India on mobility and technology. The conference programme will provide an in-depth coverage of the current and future mobile industry, highlighting specific areas of growth as well as the latest technological developments, next generation services and growth strategies.

Eight embassies -- UK, US, Germany, France, Sweden, the Philippines, Finland and Israel -- will also participate in the event. The event is jointly organised by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and K AND D Communications and apart from industry leaders, various top representatives from the government will also be present including defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, telecom minister Manoj Sinha, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan and IT secretary Ajay Prakash Sawhney.

Nokia, Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, LG and Qualcomm are expected to showcase their technologies.

The exhibition will feature more than 300 companies and entities spread over 15,000 square meters of area in multiple halls and numerous outdoor spaces. Exhibitors will represent all horizontal and vertical sectors of the mobile, broadband and ICT enabled industries. The exhibition will feature specific zones and pavilions distributed designed to highlight specific sectors of the industry.
